January 19 (BTA) – Revenues from international tourism in Bulgaria for the period January-November 2019 amount to 3.6 billion euro, according to Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) data distributed by the Tourism Ministry press centre on Friday. The numbers show an increase of 0.02 per cent compared to the same period in 2018. In November 2019 alone, revenue from foreign tourists exceeded 153 million euro, an increase of 6.7 per cent compared to the same month of the previous year. In November 2019, the number of foreign tourists increased by 7.5 per cent, with the number of foreign visits reaching 442,178. A total of 8,832,405 tourist visits to Bulgaria by foreigners were registered between January and November 2019. “The BNB’s data on revenues from international tourism are extremely good, they prove that the decline in tourism in 2019, which was fraught with difficulties and international challenges for tourism, has been overcome,” said Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova.
