August 14 (BTA) – Bulgarian opera singer Sonya Yoncheva performed an all-Italian programme at Haus fur Mozart during the prestigious Salzburg Festival on August 13. The soprano gave a solo concert with the Donizetti Opera Ensemble, the organizers said. She presented songs by Italian composers of the 19th and 20th century, such as Donizetti, Verdi, Rossini, Cimara, Ponchielli, Tosti, and Puccini. The concert was part of the festival’s “Canto Lirico” series, which offers concerts with today’s top opera singers. Yoncheva made her Salzburg Festival debut in a solo concert in 2017 and later returned appearing in the title role of “L’incoronazione di Poppea” and in her celebrated “Rebirth” programme.
