(NW) Industrial Production Up by 8.3% in July 2021, Y/Y

September 10 (BTA) – According to preliminary data, in July 2021 the seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index increased by 0.3 per cent compared to June 2021, the National Statistical Institute said on Friday. In July 2021 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 8.3 per cent in comparison with July 2020. Compared to June 2021, the July seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index rose in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 9.5 per cent, but fell in mining and quarrying by 10.2 per cent and in manufacturing by 0.4 per cent. In manufacturing, the most significant decreases were recorded in the manufacture of basic metals (by 13.2 per cent), in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (by 11.3 per cent), in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products (by 6 per cent), and in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment (by 5.8 per cent). A significant increase was registered in other manufacturing not elsewhere classified (by 9.5 per cent), in the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (by 9.1 per cent), in the manufacture of tobacco products (by 7.3 per cent), in the manufacture of leather and related products (by 6.4 per cent), and in the manufacture of beverages (by 5.7 per cent). Compared to July 2020, the July 2021 working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 17.1 per cent), in manufacturing (by 7.5 per cent), and in mining and quarrying (by 6.2 per cent).
