(NW) Average Wage at Lv 1,520 in 2021 Q3

November 12 (BTA) – In the third quarter of 2021 the average salary in Bulgaria was1,520 leva and decreased compared to the second quarter by 0.3 per cent, according to preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute. The average gross monthly salary for July 2021 was 1,533 leva, for August it was 1,485 leva, and for September – 1,543 leva. Compared to the same period of the previous year, the average monthly salary in the third quarter of 2021 in the public sector increased by 12.4 per cent, and in the private sector – by 10.2 per cent. The largest decrease was registered in the third quarter in ‘Human health and social work activities’ – by 5.4 per cent, in ‘Mining and quarrying’ – by 4.9 per cent, and in ‘Financial and insurance activities’ – by 4.3 per cent. The largest increase in wages was registered in the ‘Agriculture, forestry and fishing’ – by 7.8 per cent, and in ‘Culture, sports and entertainment’ – by 6.9 per cent. In the third quarter of 2021 the average salary increased by 10.7 per cent compared to the third quarter of 2020, with the largest increase in ‘Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ – by 17.4 per cent, in ‘Culture, sports and entertainment’- by 16.5 per cent, and in ‘Administrative and support service activities’- by 16.2 per cent. The economic activities with the highest average monthly salary in the third quarter of 2021 were: ‘Creation and dissemination of information and creative products; telecommunications’ – 3,687 leva; ‘Financial and insurance activities’ – 2,267 leva; ‘Production and distribution of electricity and heat and gaseous fuels’ – 2,225 leva. The lowest paid were the employees in ‘Hotels and restaurants’ – 940 leva; ‘Other activities’ – 1,013 leva; and ‘Water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities’ – 1150 leva.
