January 23 (BTA) – Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev is heading a Bulgarian delegation on an official visit to Turkey, the prosecution service said on Sunday. The delegation includes Deputy Prosecutor General and Head of the Supreme Administrative Prosecutor’s Office Desislava Pironeva and Geshev’s spokesperson Siika Mileva. The official visit is taking place at the invitation of Turkey’s General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal Bekir Sahin. The visit is a continuation of the active dialogue between the prosecutor’s offices of Bulgaria and Turkey, which resulted in the establishment of the Balkan Forum of Chief Prosecutors. During the visit, meetings are planned in the Supreme Court and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Turkey. The Bulgarian delegation will also visit the newly opened building of the General Prosecutor’s Office in Ankara. The focus of the talks between the prosecutor’s offices of the two neighbouring countries will be the continuation of excellent cooperation in criminal matters, anti-terrorism, as well as countering cross-border organized crime and combating illegal migration, the release said.
