Bulgaria:
– Economists’ Day.
On this date in Bulgarian history:
1966: Union of Jurists in Bulgaria is established.   
1974: Diplomatic relations with Mexico restored at embassy level.  
1990: Students from the St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia go on an occupation stike, which grows into a nationwide one. The strike is called off on July 7, 1990.
1999: Diplomatic relations established with The Gambia.  
2004: Privatization of the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company is completed.
June 12
The world:
– National Day of Russia: Russia Day (1990);
– National Day of the Philippines: Independence Day (1898).
On this date in Bulgarian history:
1955: The Union of Bulgarian Journalists’ constituent congress begins in Sofia.
1961: Diplomatic relations established with Afghanistan.
1965: The 199 Theatre opens in Sofia, now the Valentin Stoichev 199 Theatre. This is the first state chamber theatre. The name indicates the number of seats in the theatre. 1998: Bulgaria opens its Permanent Diplomatic Mission to NATO in Brussels.
