1964 – A Higher General Technical Extramural Institute established, renamed Higher Machine and Electrical Engineering Institute in 1972 and Technical University in 1995.
1990 – Association of Bulgarian Ecologists set up.
1991 – The Grand National Assembly passes the Constitutional Court Act setting up the constitutional court as an entity independent from the legislative, executive and judiciary power.
2003 – Parliament approves the Organs, Tissues and Cells Transplants Act.

1877: Stara Zagora (South Central Bulgaria) is recaptured and razed to ground by Suleyman Pasha’s troops during 1877-1878 Russo-Turkish War, few days after being liberated by Russian forces.
1938: Salonika Agreement signed between Bulgaria and Balkan Entente (Greece, Romania, Turkey and Yugoslavia). Parties agree to refrain from use of force in their relations.
1992: Bulgaria’s Parliament ratifies Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
1997: National Assembly adopts Coat of Arms of the Republic of Bulgaria Act.
2014: Bulgarian mountaineer Boyan Petrov summits K2 (8,611 m), world’s second-highest mountain in Karakoram range, on border between Pakistan and China.
