COVID-19 Update: 1,087 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 17.52%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,231,909, after 6,205 tests identified 1,087 new infections on Monday, of which 66.88% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on on Tuesday. The test positivity rate now stands at 17.52%.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 173 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 104 cases and Stara Zagora Region with 86.
The active cases are 16,635. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 1,017, including 49 in intensive care. Of the 130 new hospital admissions, 80% were not vaccinated.
Another 2,751 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,177,747.
Ten fatalities were reported (all but one unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,527.
With 2,453 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,509,590 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,067,621 people are fully vaccinated, and 57,429 have received a second booster.
