Bulgarian MEP Kyuchyuk in Skopje: Liberals in the EU Set Great Store by Enlargement

Addressing a conference organized by the Liberal Democratic Party of North Macedonia, Bulgarian MEP and ALDE Party Co-President Ilhan Kyuchyuk said the Liberals in the EU believe it is important that enlargement should continue. This can help countries like the Republic of North Macedonia transform their society and economy.
Kyuchyuk said it was gratifying that North Macedonia was showing steady progress in domestic reforms because they benefit the country and the future generations.
Now that Bulgaria’s veto on the start of EU accession talks with North Macedonia is a thing of the past, the time has come to accelerate the EU enlargement process with joint efforts, the MEP said.
The conference with Kyuchyuk’s participation is taking place just before the congress of the Liberal Democratic Party in Skopje, which will elect a new leader after Goran Milevski resigned.
