At the end of his participation in the Fourth EU-Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial Meeting in Barcelona on November 23 and 24, Bulgarian caretaker Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov conferred with Morocco’s Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Minister Nasser Bourita, Milkov’s Ministry said in a press release on Friday. The two chief diplomats stressed the traditionally friendly contacts between their countries and exchanged ideas about the further advancement of bilateral relations.
Addressing the EU-Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial Meeting, Milkov discussed the global ramifications of the war in Ukraine and the food crisis. He stressed the importance of energy security, saying that Bulgaria successfully operates the Greece-Bulgaria Gas Interconnector. The Foreign Minister added that quite a few countries in the region are confronted by the challenges of illegal migration and voiced concern with the complicating situation related to this issue.
