COVID-19 Update: 204 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 5.8%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,288,400, after 3,519 tests identified 204 new infections on Wednesday, 59.3% of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 5.8%.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 40 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 17, Varna Region with 13, Ruse Region 12, and Blagoevgrad and Burgas Regions 10 each.
The active cases are 4,498. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 352, including 43 in intensive care. Of the 35 new hospital admissions, 68.6% were not vaccinated.
Another 134 COVID patients recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing total recoveries to 1,245,848.
One fatality was reported (an unvaccinated person), bringing the death toll to 38,054.
With 378 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,598,580 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,074,389 people are fully vaccinated, and 935,356 have received a booster jab (including 62,787 with an adapted vaccine).
