Julie Zogg Wins Second Start of Snowboard World Cup in Bansko

Switzerland’s Julie Zogg won the second parallel slalom of the Snowboard World Cup in the Bulgarian resort of Bansko, thus defending her first place in the general ranking.
After beating Austria’s Sabine Schoeffmann in the final on Saturday, Zogg faced her compatriot Daniela Ulbing on Sunday. The Austrian snowboarder was in the lead for most of the distance, but a mistake at the end gave Zogg the victory by a margin of 1.26 seconds.
It was the 12th World Cup win of the Swiss snowboarder’s career and 11th in the parallel slalom. She leads the overall standings by 19 points over Ulbing, who slipped to second. Saturday’s runner-up Schoeffmann is third, 71 points behind. “It’s great to have won twice. Today things seemed to be over early, but Daniela fell and in the end the win is for me,” said Julie Zogg after the race.
Third place in Bansko went to Switzerland’s Patrizia Kummer, who beat Japan’s Tsubaki Miki in the small final.
