Man Injured in Ohrid Attack Undergoes Jaw Surgery in Sofia

A man of Bulgarian origin had jaw surgery in Sofia Monday after he was injured in an assault in Ohrid, the Republic of North Macedonia, said the Defence Ministry. Hristian Pendikov was flown to Bulgaria by a government aircraft immediately after the attack last Friday and was admitted to the Military Medical Academy where the surgery took place.
The hospital said that the patient’s condition is stable and he is out of life danger. He remains in the hospital for further treatment and monitoring.
Pendikov is the secretary of the Bulgarian culture club in Ohrid. He was severely beaten on his way out of a Skopje pub on January 19. He was admitted to hospital in Sofia with multiple injuries on the face and body, and fractured lower jaw.
