Deputy Foreign Minister Kodzhabashev Unveils Exhibition of Contemporary Turkish Art at State Cultural Institute Mission Gallery

Foreign Minister Kostadin Kodzhabashev unveiled Thursday the “Traces of Contemporary Turkish Art” collective exhibition at the Mission Gallery of the State Cultural Institute under the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The exhibition includes artworks by contemporary Turkish artists who explore the theme of cultural heritage. The event is the first in a series of cultural initiatives in Bulgaria organized by the Turkish Embassy on the occasion of the centenary of the proclamation of the Republic of Turkiye this year. “The two countries are an example of traditionally good neighbourly relations. Turkiye is one of Bulgaria’s leading foreign economic and trade partners, as well as a strategic investor in Bulgaria. There is significant potential for further development in this area between the two countries,” Kodzhabashev said in his opening address.
Turkish Ambassador to Bulgaria Aylin Sekizkok expressed gratitude to the Foreign Ministry and the State Cultural Institute for the partnership in organizing the exhibition in relation to marking the anniversary.
State Cultural Institute Director Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova stated her satisfaction with the excellent partnership with the Turkish diplomatic mission.
The exhibition features works by 32 contemporary Turkish artists, coordinated and curated by Meral Ozturk and Siret Uyanik. In addition to paintings, the exhibition also features sculpture and pottery works.
