Caretaker PM Donev Distributes Portfolios to Four Deputy PMs

Caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev distributed functions of coordinating the general policy of the Government and the interaction with the bodies of the Executive under the Council of Ministers among the four Deputy Prime Ministers, the Cabinet press service said Monday.
Ivan Demerdzhiev, Deputy Prime Minister for Public Order and Security and Minister of Interior, will coordinate the work of the ministers of Defence, of Justice and of E-government. Demerzhiev will be responsible for the government’s interaction with the State Commission on Information Security, the Road Safety State Agency, the State Reserve and Wartime Stocks State Agency, the State Agency for Refugees and the Archives State Agency.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Aleksiev will coordinate the work of the ministers of Regional Development and Public Works, of Economy and Industry, of Innovation and Growth, of Tourism, of Energy, of Environment and Water, and of Agriculture. Aleksiev’s portfolio includes the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Supervision, the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Auctions, the Agency for Public Enterprises and Control, the Nuclear Regulatory Agency and the Patent Office.
Deputy Prime Minister for Social Policies and Minister of Labour and Social Policy Lazar Lazarov will coordinate the work of the ministers of Education and Science, of Culture, of Youth and Sports and of Health. Lazarov will implement the Government’s interaction with the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation, the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training and the State Agency for Child Protection.
The National Statistical Institute is in the portfolio of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Funds, Atanas Pekanov.
Prime Minister Galab Donev will oversee the activities of the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and State agencies Intelligence, National Security and Technical Operations.
