The Council of Ministers press service reported on Friday that the caretaker government is committed to the rule of law and the fight against corruption in Bulgaria. “The new information disclosed under the global Magnitsky Act and the UK’s global anti-corruption sanctions regime is primarily within the purview of the judiciary,” the release said.
The document reads: “Like the previous caretaker government, the current one is seriously committed to the issue of judicial reform and the fight against corruption in Bulgaria, and work in this direction will continue, in accordance with the powers available to the executive branch”.
The caretaker government plans to retable in the National Assembly the bills related to the judicial reform, which the 48th National Assembly failed to adopt.
