Cities of Kazanlak, Lai Chau Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Establish Friendly, Cooperative Relations

Mayor of Kazanlak Municipality Galina Stoyanova and representatives of the Vietnamese city of Lai Chau, capital of the Lai Chau Province, signed a memorandum of understanding to establish friendly and cooperative relations. The signing took place at a meeting within the three-day official visit of the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnam’s National Assembly Chairperson Vuong Dinh Hue. The Bulgarian delegation is led by National Assembly Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov.
Zhelyazkov and Vuong Dinh Hue attended the signing of the memorandum.
The document provides for measures to jointly develop and expand cooperation between Lai Chau (Northwestern Vietnam) and Kazanlak (Central Bulgaria) in specific areas. It envisages that the two sides will regularly exchange information on the socio-economic development situation, its potential, their preferred policies and promote investment in production and business in various fields.
Lai Chau and Kazanlak will develop annual cooperation plans. Priority areas for cooperation are investment promotion, information exchange, training support, technology transfer, as well as cooperation in tourism, culture, vocational training and science.
