Albania’s Port of Durres Handles 828,000 Passengers in 2023

Albania’s Adriatic port of Durres handled 827,852 passengers in 2023, the ATA news agency reported on Saturday. ATA quoted the port administration in the country’s largest harbour as saying that annual traffic via Durres included 409,839 inbound sea passengers and 418,013 outbound ones. Traffic increased by 3% compared with 2022. In addition, 96,429 motor vehicles travelled to and from the harbour in 2023.
Foreign tourists entering or exiting Albania via the port of Durres grew by 22% in 2023 compared with 2022.
These changes reflect a very successful tourist season and are partly owing to the port’s price policy, which is aimed at supporting economic development and local tourism.
