The Rector of the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Sofia, Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov, was interviewed by the national correspondent of the Chinese newspaper Economic Daily, the university reported.
In the interview, Dimitrov focused on the cooperation between UNWE and the Tianjin University of International Studies. The two universities have launched a four-year joint programme for students to study bachelor programmes in economics. The enrollment capacity for this project is 100 students, some of whom will study in Bulgaria for one year. In the fall of 2023, the first group of Chinese students already received visas, according to UNWE.
Dimitrov pointed out that UNWE is a member of the European academic network ENGAGE.EU and that the university is currently in talks with two other Chinese higher education institutions, hoping to start new collaborations and exchange projects in 2025.
The Economic Daily was founded in 1983 and is considered one of the most influential economic newspapers in China with a daily circulation of 1.16 million copies.
